DUFFY CABIN STAY

The long awaited Duffy clan cabin pictures are finally available. Nurse Sherry worked her magic and provided them in a format that Mr. FOG could use. While the Duffy's really do not need a reason to celebrate, it was Nurse Sherry's birthday and the end of the chemo treatments.  Both very good reasons to be happy.

plus something birthday.
Where is the picture of the men in party hats??

A present from his Lorship.  The ring goes on the wedding ring.
Next time you see Sherry ask her to show it to you.  It makes a pretty ring nicer.

A present remembering the wedding

A sponsor of the Duffy cabin stay was
Crab Daddys's Seafood Grill.

Tom, Earl of Coors Light, his Lordship, Nurse Sherry, Duchess Anna, and Dan the Dragon Slayer.
This is the future of the Duffy Clan.  His Lordship by marriage, and Duchess Ann is "almost a Duffy"

Grilled chicken, organic I am sure.

No pictures of the wine were provided, but surely there was some as well as Coors Light.

GREENSBORO PIG PICKIN’ FUN

Pig Invitation
Mr. FOG made an executive decision that the pig(s), rather than Dan and Anna, would have the cover photo for this BLOG.

The pig(s), after all, made the supreme sacrifice making it possible for us to have our pig pickin’ fun.  This was their last hurrah; while Dan and Anna will have many more photo opportunities.

The “fun” in the pig pickin’  was to honor the upcoming nuptials of Anna Beaver and Dan Duffy, and was hosted by Anna’s Greensboro family and friends.  It also provided the opportunity for the Beaver and Duffy families to toast the bride and groom before the October 13 wedding at St. Simons Island, Georgia.

The setting was picture perfect, on the lawn and porch of an elegant Greensboro home on a pleasant summer evening.  Guests enjoyed the yard or the gracious wrap around porch.

Our star pig(s) were kept in the cooker until picking’ time and closely guarded by Don Beaver, Anna’s paternal grandfather, who cooked a most excellent pork.  It was served the popular North Carolina way with a vinegar based sauce.

Nurse Sherry. Anna, and Kaitlin
Kaitlin and her family organized and hosted the event.  A special thanks goes out to them and other unsung heroes for doing such a great job, as you will see in the following pictures.

Mr. FOG was so glad that he was able to be at the Beaver/Duffy Greensboro Pig Pickin’s fun reception.  It was a great opportunity to meet Anna’s family and friends.  Having lived most of his life in the South, although probably his time in South Florida doesn’t count since it is either Yankee or Latin, he decided to settle down in Asheville, North Carolina.  He has not been disappointed by North Carolina.   North Carolinians demonstrate a courtesy and gentility, high even by Southern standards and Greensboro was no exception.  Plus  Greensboro has pig pickin’ fun

GEORGIAN ALPS PHOTO GALLERY

Either everyone likes their food very well done or his Lorship is trying
a new experimental fire-based cancer treatment to get him ready for the radiation.
Prince Phillp of the House of Rum and Coke approvingly or perhaps fearfully looks on.
On the cancer front, localized low-dose external radiation will be given to his Lordship starting on August 14.  The radiation will be done on an almost daily basis for seven weeks.  More on this in future Blogs.  The topic of this BLOG will pictures with  Mr. FOG commentary on the Queen Birgit's Diamond Jubilee.

Mr. FOG wanted to include the pictures and of course his commentary, from the Duffy Mountain Clan gathering, but technical issues, that while he will assume responsibility for, but really  thinks it was the photo service used rather than FOG's incompetence, prevented their inclusion in the BLOG.  Here is a link to the album that should work for you.  You get to see the photos, but miss out on FOG's comments.  http://share.shutterfly.com/share/received/welcome.sfly?fid=9600d101685d00df&sid=0UbN3DRmxauuA

FOG is able to share and commenton  the photos on the Queen Mother's Diamond Jubilee in the Georgian Alps in July.  Photo credits go to Duchess Bettina, hence she is not pictured in the photos provided.

"Dear, don't you think the food is cooked already???"

Apparently the food was not burned.  In any event more wine will surely cover the taste of any burned spots.
